In-vehicle cable for Tesla Model S (built AFTER 9/14/16), Model 3 (built AFTER 10/4/20), Model X, and Model Y

Tesla Motors recently informed us that the transition for the in-vehicle EDR cable used to image EDR data from the Model S was slowly introduced somewhere in Q4 2015, but not on all cars, as a form of obsolescence mitigation.  Some late 2015 Model S vehicles may require the TIV-145 or TIV-144 cable. The only way to determine which cable to use is by locating the in-vehicle communication harness in the vehicle, and verify which cable connection would fit.
